Emma and Conor were married on Saturday at beautiful Pennard House - the perfect venue for a quintessential country house wedding in the heart of Somerset.
In a wedding packed with fun and colour - this bride's flare for all things vintage shone through. Both hand-made and retro details made this wedding a real showstopper. The couple also love gin and this was featured in the decor, cocktail menu and amazing gin cupcakes!
Drinks Reception:
For Emma and Conor's arrival drinks we provided canapes of:
- Tiny Yorkshire puddings with horseradish
- Mini burgers with local cheddar and tomato relish
- Smoked salmon profiteroles
- King prawns
- Olive and houmous scones
- Brie and cranberry parcels
The gin and tonics were flowing and all the guests enjoyed the addition of the Mariachi band!
Wedding Breakfast:
The relaxed feel for the day was carried through to the main meal where we provided a 'posh picnic' style feast featuring:
- Local Godminster cheese
- Honey roasted gammon ham
- Hand-raised pork pie
- Sticky honey sausages
- Chunky coleslaw
- Fresh leaves
- Roasted new potatoes
- Home-made chutney
The guests really got stuck in and this is a perfect informal style menu that gets your guests to interact with the food and each other!
And what better way to follow up than with an afternoon tea style dessert? We had sourced vintage crockery for Emma and Conor's wedding and this really set off the theme. Picture cake stands piled high with our gooey chocolate brownies, meringue nests, summer berry tarts - and of course warm homemade scones! With a pot of tea for each table and lovely local jams and cream, we were sure that no one went hungry!
Evening Food:
At Taste we believe that an evening food option is a must to keep your guests dancing into the night. For this wedding we provided our rustic flatbread pizzas and Cornish pasties. These were warmly welcomed by anyone who was starting to get a bit peckish!
